2015年美国名校本科申请Essay全新出炉

导言：

在国外，人们都管话题作文和论文统称Essay。Essay可以看做是说明文，也可以是议论文。总体来说就是引用别的事物来证明某个观点。

一篇Essay的主要组成有三部分，introduction（introductory paragraph），a body （at least one ，but usually two or more paraphs），and a conclusion（concluding paragraph）。

Essay的好坏很大程度上决定了一个人的申请成功与否，约占整个申请70%的分量。Essay写的好坏除了跟学生自己的经历有关，还要看你如何选材、如何使材料看起来丰富又没有重复感、哪些事例是美国人所接受和欣赏的、如何用3—4篇的Essay来展示你的独特。这些都需要你在下笔前好好斟酌。

本科生Essay写作的总的原则就是一定要围绕着自己的特点来进行规划和写作，要突出自己在性格方面的优势和特点，同时挖掘素材，不能写成千篇一律的毫无特色的“流水账”式的文章。没能够挖掘出你自身的素材，或者未能彻底对你进行审视，都会导致缺乏个性的大众化。比如文章中出现下列几种描述，都不会对你有任何帮助，因为这些使人厌倦的陈词滥调，重复几乎每个申请者都能够得出的平常结论，比如：旅行开阔了我的视野，使我有机会接触不同的文化；这次经历告诉我，努力奋斗和坚定的信念能帮助我实现心中的任何目标；与来自不同文化背景的同学一起学习，使我理解了多样性的真正价值。上述这些情况是一般申请者经常会出现的。专业文书写作可以有效的挖掘你的与众不同之处，从而规划出具有鲜明个人特色的申请Essay。强烈建议申请者从现在就开始回顾一下自己曾经写过的日记或者随笔，或者回忆一些过去曾经令你十分难忘的生活细节，想法或者经历，这些都能作为Essay的素材。
