(A)一空型
In parts of the Arctic, the land grades into the land fast ice so _____ that you can walk off the coast and not know you are over the hidden sea.
A. permanently
B. imperceptibly
C. irregularly
D. precariously
E. relentlessly
思路:so…that 构成的因果关系属于同向逻辑,因此空格应与“you can walk off the coast and not know you are over the hidden sea”一致。
It is (i) ____that so many portrait paintings hang in art museums , since the subject matter seems to dictate a status closer to pictures in the family photograph album than to high art . But perhaps it is the artistic skill with which the portraits are painted that(ii) ______their presence in art museums.
(i)
(ii)
surprising
challenges
understandable
justifies
irrelevant
changes
Managers who think that strong environmental performances will (i)_____their company’s financial performance often(ii) ______claims that the systems designed to help manage environmental concerns are valuable tools. By contrast , managers who perceive environmental concerns to be(iii) ____to financial success may view an environmental management system as extraneous. In either situation ,and whatever their perception,it is a manager’s commitment to achieving environmental improvement rather than the mere presence of a system that determines environmental performances.
(i)
(ii)
(iii)
eclipse
uncritically accept
complementary
bolster
appropriately acknowledge
intrinsic
degrade
hotly dispute
peripheral
思路:1,题目结构: managers who A*空格(iii) may view A as extraneous. 因为who后面的内容修饰mangers,而同时manager做的动作是view …. as extraneous。
(i)(ii)一起做
By contrast B,相当于A= —B
(2),因为B=extraneous, 所以A= Not extraneous=重要= valuable tools
(4),所以,strong environmental performance will (i)______ their company’s financial performance,空格(i)需要填写一个正评价动词才能满足第3步骤中的条件。 黯然失色)与C, degrade(降级)无法满足条件。
Paradoxically, Robinson’s excessive denial of the worth of early works of science fiction suggest that she has become quite ___them。
A. enchanted by
B. enamored of
C. skeptical of
D. encouraged by
E. offended by
F. reflective about
Paradoxically
并列:and, or,逗号,not only…but also
递进:even ,nearly ,truly
目的:to, in order to
方式:by
因果:because, because of, for, as, since, in that, result from,so, therefore, thereby, as a result, consequently, accordingly, thus, hence, result in, lead to,so that(such that)
转折:although, though, despite, but, however ,nevertheless, yet, actually, instead
对比: even if/though
unlike, rather than , more…than , in contrast to/ on the contrary, paradoxically
now, have now been, first…second, initially ,originally, formerly …(eventually/finally, ultimately)
